A week ago Audrey set off on her adventure round the world, well nearly round the world with 14 of my new book ‘The Toolbox for life’s little emergencies’. Her aim was to give the book to people she thought would benefit from reading it and see if any of the bookshops in England, Scotland and Europe that she visited would be interested in stocking it. It’s a bit like where’s Wally?
Just sitting on the Tor, I sat watching four women trying to take a group selfie shot,, so I assisted them by taking the photo.. One of the women Lesley Sutton from Bedfordshire, a kindred Spirit and a amazing lady, got talking .. Judith you will be hearing from Lesley… Lesley was gifted the 3rd book..

Audrey has been such a believer in the book making a difference in peoples lives’ and as an author having an ambassador for your book who does this it’s such a blessing. As an author I find it hard to go round telling people they should buy the book even if I believe that it will make a difference. So having Audrey is my blessing.
I have another lovely lady Amanda Moo Daniels who is setting up a Facebook page to help her raise money to buy some of the books to donate to, clinics, hospitals, associations who work with those suffering from depression, PTSD, or those who just need it to get though a transition in their lives. The idea is when you have finished with the book you can pass it forward or just donate to buy a book for someone. I will let you know when the page is ready.
We have already had some wonderful feed back from those who have read it saying it’s simple to read and the exercises are easy to follow. They can take the book with them and refer to the page they need at the time they need it.
- This little book is for the wider community for those wondering where to now?
- Why you have questions like, ‘why is has this happened to me?’
- Or how do I find some me time?
Here is a little exercise from the book, try it and see how you go
Living in the moment one day at a time
We become anxious when we allow our thoughts to go into the future but living efficiently in the now is the key to a happier future. Think of a time when your thoughts start wondering off into the future, did it solve anything? How did it make you feel? Did you anxiety levels rise? Did you then feel you needed to control things because of the anxiety?
Closing your eyes, just take in a big deep breath, hold it for the count of three and then breathe out slowly. Repeat this exercise six times and then see how you feel when you have finished. It brings everything into balance, doesn’t it? It stops you feeling panicky and allows you to feel calmer. You can do this any time you start to feel yourself becoming tense or anxious.
Positive Self -Talk
- Another little tool is positive self-talk. Once again, if you feel yourself becoming anxious, just start saying to yourself, “I am okay, it is okay. Just keep saying it until you feel yourself becoming calmer.
Every time you have a negative thought I want you to say to yourself Stop! And ask yourself why you are thinking this? Is it serving any purpose?
Change the thought to a positive one. Say your positive thought out loud a few times, how does it feel? Changing negative thoughts to positive can really change how you view life.
Try it, it works.
Live in the moment for it will never come again. Think of the things that you can be grateful for.
- A roof over your head
- Food in your stomach
- A bed to sleep on
- Clean air to breath
- Think of some others and write them down
Concentrate on the good things; don’t give the negative thoughts any energy. See how you feel after putting this into practise.
